Hey Ya

Hey Ya by Outkast:

No song brought more people together, in the last five years, than this song. And it was pretty much impossible to go out any where in the United States without hearing this song at some point in the night in late 2003 into 2004 (and odds are you heard it about five times in the course of the night). The song is ridiculously simple, but that is what makes it so much fun. Everyone can dance to it (or try at least) and it does a fantastic job and being near impossible to classify (like so many Outkast songs). I think it's a pop song, done in a rock tradition, by an hip-hop artist. And let's not forget 3000 throwing in that kick ass bridge which asks the ladies to 'shake it like a Polaroid picture'. Good times.

I love this video:

On, I recently heard a cover of this song... and it's shit. Complete shit. This is one of those songs that doesn't need to be covered, and if you're going to cover it, slowing it down might be the dumbest idea... ummm... not ever, but it's up there.

Yea no body should try doing a cover of this song. It would be a big disgrace.

This isn't ringing a bell at all. I must not have got out much in 2003/04.
