The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down by The Band

It's a sad song, or at least it feels sad, almost like a soul song or something Billie Holiday would sing. Of course, it's also a rock/folk song, but it's one of the more bittersweet rock songs out there. My memories of this song aren't all too interesting... I guess a random night in high school here or there, driving to the North Side for some party that wasn't all too interesting or maybe listening to this instead of doing my homework. I can't get over how bittersweet this song sounds.
